Updating Your Theme
How to Update

Backup your current theme
- Go to Online Store → Themes
- Click Actions → Duplicate on your current theme

Check for updates
- Updates are available in the Shopify Theme Store
- Follow the installation process for the new version

Re-apply customizations
- Open the new theme’s editor
- Apply your settings (colors, fonts, logo, etc.)
- Configure sections as needed

Test before publishing
- Preview all key pages
- Test checkout process
- Check mobile experience

Publish when ready
- Click Actions → Publish
Preserving Custom Code
If you’ve added custom code to your theme:
- Document all customizations before updating
- Re-apply custom code to the new version
- Test thoroughly to ensure compatibility
Note: Custom code may need adjustments for new versions.
