Installation & Setup

How do I install the Edpro theme?

  1. Go to your Shopify Admin
  2. Navigate to Online StoreThemes
  3. Click Add themeVisit Theme Store
  4. Search for “Edpro” and click Add theme

Will I lose my content when switching themes?

No. Your products, collections, pages, and navigation menus remain intact. However:

  • Section arrangements may need adjustment
  • Custom code from previous themes won’t transfer
  • Some settings may need reconfiguration

We recommend backing up your current theme first.

Can I use Edpro with any Shopify plan?

Yes! Edpro works with all Shopify plans, including Basic, Shopify, and Advanced.


Theme Editor

Where do I find theme settings?

  1. Open the theme editor (Online StoreThemesCustomize)
  2. Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the left sidebar
  3. Or scroll to the bottom of the sidebar

How do I edit different pages?

  1. In the theme editor, click the page name at the top
  2. Select the page type you want to edit
  3. For templates with variants, choose the specific template

Can I undo changes in the theme editor?

Yes! Press Ctrl+Z (Windows) or Cmd+Z (Mac) to undo recent changes. You can also:

  • Exit without saving to discard all changes
  • Duplicate your theme before making major changes

Design & Customization

How do I change my store colors?

  1. Open theme editor
  2. Go to Theme settingsDesign systemColors
  3. Click any color swatch to change it

How do I change fonts?

  1. Open theme editor
  2. Go to Theme settingsDesign systemTypefaces
  3. Select fonts from Shopify’s font library

What size should my logo be?

We recommend:

  • Width: At least 200px
  • Format: PNG with transparent background, or SVG
  • Aspect ratio: Works with most ratios; theme adjusts height

What size should my hero images be?

For best results:

  • Width: 1920px minimum
  • Format: JPG or WebP for photos
  • Aspect ratio: Varies by section settings

Products

How do I show product ratings?

  1. Install a reviews app (Judge.me, Loox, etc.)
  2. Go to Theme settingsProduct cards
  3. Enable “Show product rating”
  4. Configure metafield paths if needed

How do I enable color swatches?

Color swatches appear automatically when:

  1. Products have a “Color” variant option
  2. Swatch display is enabled in theme settings

Configure in Theme settingsProduct cards.

Why aren’t my product badges showing?

Check that:

  1. Badges are enabled in Theme settingsProduct badges
  2. For new badges: Product is within the days limit
  3. For sale badges: Product has a compare-at price
  4. Max badges setting isn’t limiting display

Cart & Checkout

How do I customize the cart drawer?

  1. Open theme editor
  2. Go to the Modals section group
  3. Click on Cart Drawer
  4. Configure settings and add blocks

Can I change checkout page appearance?

Checkout customization depends on your Shopify plan:

  • Basic/Shopify: Limited to logo and colors
  • Shopify Plus: Full checkout customization

Why isn’t the cart drawer opening?

Common causes:

  1. JavaScript error on the page (check browser console)
  2. Cart drawer section not in template
  3. Conflicting app code

Try disabling apps temporarily to diagnose.


How do I set up my menu?

  1. Go to Shopify AdminOnline StoreNavigation
  2. Edit Main menu for header navigation
  3. Add, remove, or rearrange menu items
  4. Create nested items for dropdowns

How do I add dropdown menus?

  1. In Navigation, add a parent menu item
  2. Drag child items under it to nest them
  3. Nested items appear as dropdowns in the header

Performance

How can I improve my store’s speed?

  1. Optimize images - Use WebP format, appropriate sizes
  2. Limit apps - Only use necessary apps
  3. Enable lazy loading - Already built into the theme
  4. Reduce sections - Don’t overload pages with too many sections

Why are my images loading slowly?

Common causes:

  1. Large image file sizes (optimize to under 500KB)
  2. Too many images loading at once
  3. Slow hosting/CDN (usually not the case with Shopify)

Use Shopify’s image optimization or tools like TinyPNG.


Mobile

How does the theme look on mobile?

Edpro is fully responsive and mobile-optimized:

  • Header condenses with hamburger menu
  • Grids stack to single column
  • Touch-friendly navigation
  • Optimized image loading

Can I hide sections on mobile?

Most sections can be configured to show different content on mobile vs. desktop. Check section settings for mobile-specific options.


Apps & Integrations

Is Edpro compatible with Shopify apps?

Yes! Edpro is built following Shopify’s theme architecture and works with most Shopify apps. Some apps may need theme integration—contact the app developer for support.

Which review apps work with the rating feature?

Any app using Shopify’s standard rating metafields:

  • Judge.me
  • Loox
  • Yotpo
  • Shopify Product Reviews
  • And others using reviews.rating metafield

Troubleshooting

My changes aren’t appearing

  1. Save your changes - Click the Save button
  2. Clear browser cache - Hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R)
  3. Check the right page - Ensure you’re editing the correct template

Something broke after I made changes

  1. Undo recent changes - Use Ctrl+Z / Cmd+Z
  2. Check section settings - Look for missing required fields
  3. Contact support - We can help diagnose issues

How do I update my theme?

  1. Backup your current theme
  2. Download the new version from the Theme Store
  3. Apply your customizations to the new version
  4. Test thoroughly before publishing
